Brief History
Oyewole Twins International Secondary School Christian Union
(OTISSCU) is the Christian fellowship in the school
named above.
The Christian Union
was established at the inception of
the school i.e. October 1993.
Membership is essential but not compulsory to all students who are
Christians.
At
the inception, Deacon L.A.Sonde conducted it. But on August 4th
1995, some executives were appointed to steer the society
through the Holy
Spirit. Although about 13 students were appointed, only 3 students were
left owing to the exit of
others from the school and backsliding by
others. Those left included: Tunde Hundeyin, Adeolu Akiode and Tobi
Bankole.
The
Christians Union at the time when executives started their works
was faced with a lot of problems, which were solved by
God as time went
on. The problems included;
The influence of witchcraft, Backsliding spirit, Problem of good
co-ordination,
negative attitude of Christian students to the fellowship etc.
But today, the Fellowship is gradually doing away with
these. PRAISE
THE LORD!!!
In February 1995, new programmes by the Holy Spirit through Tope
Adekunle were introduced:
the Sunday miracle and revival hour, bible study
and prayer meetings.
Every Sunday during the Sunday service, a pastor
from the Redeemed
Christian Church of God (RCCG) come to preach to the students but
presently, members from Scripture
Union visits the fellowship to preach to
students. Some of which includes: Bro. Theophlius Owese, Bro. Seun Omolorun,
Sis. Titi Olaniya and a host of others.
Also, around June 1997, a group was set up named The prayer Warrior
Group.
This group meets to pray and fast about different issues such as
problems in the school, students and the nation at large.
Moreover,
a lot of other Religious Reforms (R.R) took place in OTISSCU
between May and June 1997. These were all due to the inspiration
of the
Holy Spirit. For example:
-The organization of internal competitions in the fellowship amongst
students
which holds every forth nights.
-Staging of plays/ dramas in the fellowship weekly.
-Choir ministration on Sundays during
the Sunday service etc.
Some of the programmes organized includes: Friendly Love Feast,
Gods Basket, Film Shows send forth and welcome programmes and the
Christian day.
This website was created first, to reach out to the world at large about the Message of Christ,
being the Solution to the
disease of Sin. Also to connect with all Students from the school, and Christans at large.
The
fellowship at present is not one of the largest (Numerically), as the population of the school too is just growing, but
we
know that with Jesus, there are more people with us than those that are against us.
